Protect any loose items like the clothes you plan to leave inside your cabinet. Punch a hole in the top of the garbage bag and use that to cover a stack of your clothes on hangers. You can use this to shield your books and other household items too.
Once the crew has the loaded the furniture onto the truck, have someone wipe off the excess moisture. This should prevent leaks and keep your items safe from mold or water damage.
If you’re moving during the rain, it may be best to get the crew to start with unimportant items first. That way, by the time they move onto valuable ones, there’s a huge chance that the rain would have already stopped.
